Sources

A camera is an object,
not a line in a list.

Options live on the source, not in one hidden global profile. That is what makes it reasonable to start with a single dock camera, prove one alert, and add the rest of the hall afterwards — without inheriting settings that were right for a different view.

Connecting

If it streams, we can work with it.

livee is not a hardware sale and not a recorder replacement. It reads the live stream your estate already produces.

  • IP and CCTV cameras

The cameras already on the wall, including the ones that were installed years before anybody said the word AI.

  • NVR and VMS streams

Where the recorder owns the cameras, livee takes the stream from the recorder rather than fighting it for the device.

  • RTSP

The common denominator. If you can open the stream in a player, it is usually a source.

  • One camera first

There is no minimum. The honest way to buy this is to wire one situation that already worries you and see whether the first event earns the second camera.

Per-source options

Six settings that belong to the camera.

Stream and source type

How this view arrives — camera, recorder, RTSP. Connected per camera, not per site.

Detection sensitivity

Tuned to the light, traffic and clutter of that one view. A dim yard and a bright pack hall are not the same problem.

Zones

Regions drawn on the image that rules can point at — the hatch, the belt, the cage aisle, the fire route.

Calibration

The known distance that turns pixels into metres, so a proximity threshold means what it says.

Default channels

What a new alert on this camera notifies before you change anything — a sensible starting point, not a lock.

Clip retention

How long the seconds around an event are kept. Set per source, because the cage and the yard gate do not need the same answer.

Calibration

Turning a view into metres.

Only proximity alerts need this, and it is a one-off per camera.

  1. 01
    Pick a known span

A rack pitch, a bay width, a painted line, a pallet edge. Something whose real length you can state without a tape measure argument.

  2. 02
    Draw it on the image

Mark the same span in the camera view and enter the real distance. That single reference is what the floor plane is derived from.

  3. 03
    Walk it and check

Somebody walks the distance in front of the camera while livee reports what it measures. If the view cannot carry the accuracy you need, you hear it here — not after the invoice.

Active hours

Armed only when it matters.

  • A rule can be armed after 18:00 and stand down when the shift starts
  • Or only inside a booked receiving slot, so the dock is watched exactly when it is supposed to be working
  • Or continuously, for a cage or a gate that has no working hours
  • Windows belong to the alert, so one camera can carry a day rule and a night rule at once
  • Most false alarms are a real event at the wrong hour — this is the setting that removes them
  • Changing a window does not touch the other alerts on that camera

FAQ

About sources.

How many cameras can one site run?

More than a person can watch, which is the point. The practical limit is bandwidth and processing rather than a licence number, and it is part of what the quote is based on.

Does livee record?

It keeps the seconds around an event, for as long as that source is set to keep them. It is not a second archive of your whole site, and it does not replace your recorder.

Can I move a camera after it is calibrated?

You can, but the calibration is tied to the view. Move or re-aim the camera and the reference has to be drawn again — a two-minute job, but not an automatic one.
